How I help men in recovery in Maine
I help men in recovery who are sober and stable but still carrying something unresolved. Less reactivity, fewer triggers calling the shots, and more calm in the moments that used to derail you.
That could mean working through anxiety that showed up when you got sober, processing past experiences with EMDR so they lose their grip, or building real tools for relationships and daily life with ACT.
With 22 years in recovery myself, I understand this work from both sides. Sessions are online, private, and easy to fit around your life in Portland, Gorham, Cumberland, Falmouth, Yarmouth, Cape Elizabeth, Scarborough, and beyond

FAQs about therapy for men in recovery in Maine
Do you offer online therapy for people in Portland, ME?
Yes. I offer online therapy for men in recovery throughout Maine including Portland, Falmouth, Cumberland, and nearby towns. Sessions are secure, HIPAA-compliant, and easy to fit into a busy schedule from wherever you are in Maine.
Can I work with you if I'm in 04103, 04104, 04105, or 04110?
Absolutely. I regularly meet with clients in those ZIPS and nearby areas. If you're elsewhere in Maine, we can still meet online.
Do you meet outside Portland?
Yes. I serve men in recovery statewide through secure telehealth, including Cumberland, Falmouth, Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, and Gorham.
What issues do you help with most often?
Anxiety that showed up or got worse after getting sober, past experiences that still affect how you react and relate, and the ongoing work of building the life recovery makes possible. We'll tailor tools to your goals.
Is there a local resource if I need immediate help?
If you're in crisis or need immediate support, call or text 988 (Maine Crisis Line). For non-urgent therapy, book a free 15 minute call with me.
How soon will I notice a difference?
It varies by person and what we're working on. Many clients notice early shifts within the first few sessions. Deeper change builds over time as we do the work and you practice between sessions.
How much do sessions cost?
Private pay sessions are $160 for 55 minutes. If you're using in-network insurance, your cost depends on your specific plan. See full fees and payment information here.
Do you accept insurance?
I prefer to operate on a private pay basis because it gives us the freedom to shape care around your goals rather than what an insurance company dictates.
That said, I understand insurance is what makes therapy accessible for many people, so I choose to be in-network with Aetna in Maine. If your plan isn't Aetna, I can provide you with a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Learn more about my fees and insurance policy here.
