You’re not alone in what you’re feeling.
Hi, I’m Shimon. I offer therapy grounded in compassion and clarity.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in helping people who are struggling with substance use, addiction, and recovery, as well as those processing trauma and grief. With over 20 years in recovery and 14 years of clinical experience, I understand how deeply personal and complex this journey can be.
You can feel assured that I will honor your experience and work with you on whatever recovery and healing path you’re on. My approach is compatible with harm reduction, 12-step, and alternative programs.
Therapy can be beneficial at whatever point you are at because it allows you to examine whatever is blocking you and take action for change.
Therapy that honors your experience.
Trauma-Informed
We work at your pace. I’ll never push you to “move on,” but I’ll help you gently move through what feels stuck and overwhelming.
Evidence-Based
I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help process distressing memories and triggers and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you take meaningful steps, even when uncomfortable thoughts and feelings show up.
Culturally Conscious
I bring a socially conscious, inclusive, and affirming lens to our work together, honoring your values, identity, and lived experience.
Private
To protect your privacy and ensure your receive personalized care, I do not work with insurance companies. This allows us to focus on your goals without external control, avoid diagnostic labels unless you choose, and create a treatment plan tailored to you. Your therapy stays between us.
It can feel hard to ask for help
I invite you to take the first step and reach out.
